Working Group
Goal: To Provide Consortium-wide educational
programs and outreach campaigns to reduce and address dating/domestic violence,
sexual assault, and stalking with particular attention to inclusion of new students,
students of color, LGBTQ students, international students, and traditionally
under-represented groups.
Each objective will inform students about campus and community resources
who address violence against women and inform students about crucial ways university
responds to these serious issues.
Objective 1:
- Develop educational and prevention/risk reduction strategies for all incoming
students.
- Brochures
- Posters
- Promotional products (wallet cards, key rings, whistles, etc.)
Objective 2:
- Implement New Student Orientation program (during second year) and evaluate.
Objective 3:
- Provide special peer educational programs about violence against women for
Greeks, Athletics, Residential Life staffs.
Objective 4:
- Plan to train individuals identified as ‘first point of contact’
on residential staff (students), faculty, student affairs, staff, clergy,
coaches, etc. (Develop plan in first six months and implement months 7 –
20)
- (Objective 4 will be accomplished in collaboration with Victim/Survivor
Services Working Group)
