What to do if you are sexually assaulted...
- Seek medical attention as soon as possible. In the Philadelphia area, free
medical treatment is provided to rape victims at Episcopal (click here for map; ph: 215.685.3251 ) and Thomas Jefferson
University Hospitals (click here for map; ph: 215.955.6000 ).
- Do not shower, eat, or smoke. These actions can destroy evidence of the
attack.
- Report the crime (call 911 or 215.686.1776 ). A victim is not required to report the incident, but
it is highly recommended to prevent future attacks by the perpetrator.
- Women Organized Against Rape is an organization, which provides a 24-hour
hotline service (215) 985-3333. Their hotline is staffed with trained crisis
counselors, that you can call any time.
